Bird Walk in the Park
Information:

Bird expert Michael Hobbs with East Lake Washington Audubon Society will lead a bird walk in the park. Many species should be breeding and singing at this time, so this will be a great chance to learn about the birds in the park and local birds in general.

 

 

When:

Saturday, June 14th
8:00 am to Noon
Sign Up: The walk will be limited to 20 people, and you must sign up in advance. To sign up, please contact Jim Erckmann at:erckmann1@comcast.net or (425) 827-6595. There is no cost.
Where:

From 405 northbound: Take Exit 17 off I-405 (NE 70th Place), turn south (right) onto 116th Avenue, then east (left) on NE 60th St. Continue on NE 60th St. until you see Ben Franklin Elementary on the left.

From 405 southbound: Exit freeway at Exit #17 (NE 70th St.). Turn right at end of freeway exit onto NE 70th St. At light, turn right onto 116th Ave. NE. At NE 60th St. Stop sign turn left onto NE 60th St. Continue on NE 60th St. until you see Ben Franklin Elementary on the left.

We will gather in the parking lot of Ben Franklin Elementary, School address is: 12434 NE 60th Street, Kirkland. Parking is free in the school parking lot.

Preparation: Trails may be muddy, and it could rain, so wear hiking boots and clothing for wet and cool weather. Bring field guides, cameras and questions.
