A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A NATURE WALK SEPTEMBER 6th 2014

A Beautiful Day for a Nature Walk, 09-06-14

An engaged group of visitors, all new to the park, enjoyed not only gorgeous weather but also a plethora of information and lively conversation about the natural history of the park, its plant and animal inhabitants, invasive species, the potential effects of climate change, and the importance of volunteers needed for the park's continued success. Led by Jim Erckmann, PhD Ecologist and Bridle Trails Park Trustee, the walk was filled with fun and offbeat information as well: Who knew that the best way to avoid conflict with a predatory bird is to keep direct eye contact, or that some of our invasive species (weeds) would be delicious in a gourmet salad mix?
