Earth Day Event at Bridle Trails State Park 2019

Location: 5522 127th Ave NE Kirkland, WA 98033
Description: Please join other volunteers removing invasive laurel, holly, and and ivy. Adults can work on the laurel and holly, and kids on an ivy patch. We will have a dumpster to receive the plant material for later composting - donated by PACIFIC TOPSOILS. Thanks!

Bring good work gloves, shovels, hand pruners, and loppers, if you have them. Boots and appropriate clothing for pulling weeds recommended. We will have some pruners, extra gloves, some loppers, and some other tools.

This year we will be working in the northeast corner of the park behind a house at 5522 127th Ave NE Kirkland, WA 98033 (see map below). This is an area of heavy laurel infestation. There will be limited parking on the street near the work site, and overflow parking along NE 60th St near Ben Franklin Elementary, a short walk to the work site. The dumpster for the plant material will be in the backyard, which is where we will work from. We will have signs up to guide you to the site. We will have a sanikan at the site. We will work out of the pasture at that address.

We will provide free snacks and drinks in the morning at the work site. A free pizza lunch will be served at noon in the picnic area near the main park entrance at 5300 116th Ave NE, Kirkland. Parking will be free for volunteers with a pass we will provide.

Please feel free to share the flyer below with friends and family who might be interested in helping.
