Cougar Sighting in park July 26, 2019

Ranger Matt Birklid received what seemed a reliable sighting of a cougar in the park the morning of July 26, 2019. The sighting was on the Coyote Trail, near 132nd Ave NE, but these large predators move quickly, so the animal could be anywhere in the park or could have moved on. Please exercise caution if you walk or ride in the park.

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has information HERE on cougars, including what to do if you should encounter one (under "Preventing Conflict").
