FANTASTIC FREE EGG HUNT EVENT MARCH 31, 2018
Posted on 04/01/2018
Our second annual egg hunt Saturday, March 31st, was almost twice as popular as our first in 2017, with nearly 400 children and about 300 adults at the park! On a lovely morning, families searched for and collected different colored plastic eggs on the Raven Trail and had to fill in a quiz sheet from reading signs along the trail that had facts about native birds and their nests and eggs. Participants might even have encountered a giant rabbit along the trail! When back, each child got a goody bag, but we barely had enough of them for all the kids. The children who found the well-hidden golden eggs got special prizes, like chocolate rabbits, games, and stuffed bunnies. When they returned from the trail, kids could get hot chocolate, pet a miniature horse, play games, and learn about birds in the park. Lots of fun for all! A big thanks to Eastside Audubon Society volunteers for coming with bird and egg specimens, along with displays. We asked participants to fill out an online survey form and were very pleased with the positive feedback and suggestions.
