GREAT EARTH DAY EVENT APRIL 21, 2018
Posted on 04/22/2018
About 75 volunteers came out for our event on Saturday, April 21st, this time at the Acheson property on 132nd Ave NE. During a very nice and partly sunny morning, volunteers picked up loads of branches from past storms and removed invasive holly and blackberry. Five Girl Scout troops and one Cub Scout pack, along with other families and adults, filled a 35-cubic-yard dumpster to the top. Impressive! After the morning’s work, participants were served a free lunch of Costco pizza, salad, fruit, cookies, brownies, and drinks. All in all, a very successful event. A big thanks to Pacific Topsoils for supplying the dumpster and recycling the plant material for free.
